His rapping journey kicked off around 2016—starting out as a cover artist who would engineer his own covers to Eminem’s tracks. Over time, he felt that cover artistry wasn’t always going to fly, and he needed to grow his own wings and throw himself into the deep fryer of music. That is when he dove deep into the creative process, eventually rising up with a debut Soundcloud album in 2018.
The album did not quite garner the success and acclaim he had anticipated, which led him to give up and take a backseat in matters relating to music until around 2022, when he caught a big break by meeting with an online r/makinghiphop community on Reddit where hosting weekly ciphers and freestyle competitions, which rekindled his love for the game.
The community also helped him hone his craft, both lyrically and sonically, and he was able to nail his rap identity. We are now talking of an established household name that boasts of features with rap giants Rick Ross and Juicy J.
“The Simpleton’s LP 2: Jewelz Blu-Galoo” is more than just the sound and tracks—this is a listening experience that you live through like a religion. It is also a demonstration of D.O.M of Dnd’s limitless creativity both as an avid storyteller and performer.
This entire collection has been rooted in the traditionalism of the hip-hop genre; whatever it is that you wish for in rap is here: smart wordplay, punchline-heavy and thought-provoking bars, pristine songwriting, explicit and hard-hitting rhymes, deft cadence, and even the authentic, nostalgic street anthems—this is the whole package; an all-in-one listening experience.
There are guest features by Rick Ross, Kurupt, Krizz Kaliko, Wyshmaster, and producer Anno Domini Beats, just to name a few.
“Indigo White 2.0” has what you’d term real street vibes. Anno Domini Beats lays down the ice for everyone to skate on with those old-school-flavored beats. D.O.M of Dnd does not disappoint; unleashing his vast lyrical wisdom by unleashing a concoction of flows and cadence in his distinct manner both in the flow pattern and vocality.
“Jewel Blu” featuring Krizz Kaliko and Wyshmaster, is a powerful drill banger with a howling presence. The bouncing beats and unrestrained, carefree performance echoes a Pop Smoke-ish kind of attitude that is such a joy to live through!
“Johnny Sins 2.0” sees D.O.M of Dnd and Rick Ross come together under the guidance of Anno Domini Beats to fashion a timeless masterpiece. D.O.M of Dnd is his usual chatty with knife-edge wordplay. Ross comes through with his heavy presence and daring lyricism to engineer a straight-up banger that cannot escape anyone’s attention.
“Riley Raid” is a lyrical masterclass and a worthy example of D.O.M of Dnd’s direct and wondrous wordplay-effectiveness over the mic. He is swift and packs a powerful punch with his provocative rhymes and wise perspectives.
D.O.M of Dnd’s lyrical content is not designed for the faint of heart; it is the sort to leave you speechless as you try to keep up with his effortless delivery of complicated rhyme patterns, peppered with cleverness and punchlines. Once your ears have been trampled by brashness masquerading as ignorance, then uplifted by his witty charm, you will understand why this multitalented lyrical artist is riding a meteoric rise to the top of global hip hop!
“The Simpleton’s LP 2: Jewelz Blu-Galoo” is a near-flawless demonstration of a committed rap artist on an unrivaled high. I have a feeling you’re going to have the time of your life with this epic collection!
