Arizona-Based Wordsmith Jasesaw’s EP “I Was There I Am Here Now” Comprises Soundtracks to Elevation—From the Depths of Undesirable Lows to the Heights of Admired Success.

JASESAW’s artistry has been built around one major cornerstone; – providing solace. His goal as a hip-hop and rap artist is to connect with listeners, validate their emotions, and provide an outlet for spiritual awakening, ultimately encouraging them to find clarity and healing rather than drowning in pain and confining themselves to an island of loneliness. Growing up in Fresno, CA, and interacting with street life, his experiences with gangs have inspired his rhymes as much as his own lyrical imaginativeness. Even now, as an Arizona resident, JASESAW is someone who believes that everyone is navigating life as best as they can. With his music that comes from a place of identifiable experience, he hopes listeners find solace in his lyricism and remember they’re never alone.

With his new EP, “I WAS THERE I AM HERE,” JASESAW does not only wish to entertain but also inspire listeners to embrace their own journeys and remember that they cannot eternally condemn themselves to their past mistakes, failures, and sins. They have to absolve themselves and start a journey of healing, self-acceptance, and moving forward. And that goes to all those who feel they have been knocked down a few too many times for them to continue getting back up…the message packaged here is that you can always bounce back!

With this EP, it is clear that any producer can lace JASESAW with just about any type of production, and he is going to make it work. I feel that he also has a seamless chemistry with his main producer—like a quarterback throwing the ball to a certain spot knowing his receiver is going to be there.

If you love hip-hop with contemporary allure, the opener “STILL A USER” is your go-to as JASESAW showcases an intricate level of flair to his pengame, capturing the essence of the jam figuratively and still ensuring it stays in the head with those memorable hooks, “Don’t believe the rumors bitch I’m still a user…”

“DRUGS, SEX, MONEY” capture life’s endless search for these three pleasures; at least for most people. The beat here is classic, exuding an irresistible nostalgia that makes it feel more like a religious experience as it progresses.

“OUT OF TOWN” is a successful party banger with replay value, and “NIGGAZ IN MEXICO” sees JASESAW dig into the seemingly controversial issue regarding illegal immigrants, especially the ones that cross through Arizona. The news-cut clip interludes and his own straight-to-the-point verses leave a listener with something to introspect about.

The collabo “THE BUSINESS” featuring Juicy J is explicit to the core; vividly capturing a desire to have sex with a “bi*tch model with big ti**ies.”

The last track, “WHY LOOK BACK” not only has a fulfilling message about moving on but is also one of the best collaborative efforts from the album, featuring the sweet-sounding, soulfully soothing vocals of Breana Marin and the unmistakable cadence of rapper and producer Jinxed, not forgetting the rock-flavored riffs that elevate the song’s appeal to epic punk heights!

There you have it, an album that understands you and has been written from a place of love, tenderness, strength, and truth, if you like.
