The banger “Young Brown Immigrant” is a genuinely brand new masterpiece about what he had to endure in a foreign land with people who weren’t particularly welcoming to him.

As a brown immigrant, he was really targeted following the 9/11 attacks, where people like him were subject to racial profiling in school, on bus rides, and even in their own residences. He remembers being bullied and called names like Taliban, Osama, and other utterly disgusting, borderline racist slurs.

He and his friends endured such humiliation, and he lets his experiences be felt in this raw, honest, and mature delivery, flanked by poignant and profoundly touching lyrics.

Through that thick blanket of humiliation is also a great triumphant and inspiring tale, as his life as well as the lives of his friends and family are so much better now. They are all living their dreams, and it is so surreal to look back from where they came to this very moment, which they never thought was possible…not even in their wildest dreams.

AKB is a master of wordplay; the way he aligns himself over the heavy production runway, ready to fly, is the mark of someone with an innate rapping ability as well as the hands-on experience to go with it.
